AGGANIS ARENA, BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Problem

Multiple flights of stairs serving the Agganis Arena were having issues with slips and falls. This was most common in the winter months with more usage and attendees bringing with them the more inclement weather from outside. Staff had tried several approaches but with limited success.

Solution

Amstep Products model #511A Non-Slip Stair Treads and #341A Stair Nosings were used on the stairs and landings. Solid Grey on the all stair except Yellow sightline was provided on the bottom #511A step and a solid Yellow #341A was put on the top step/landing of each flight. This is one of many applications where Boston University has used Amstep Products Stair Treads and Stair Nosings with great success.
