
Visiglow™See Stair Nosings In A Whole New Light
VisiGlow's unique, non-radioactive, photo-luminescent pigment is mixed with the super-hard abrasive material on the two leading strips of each stair nosing. The afterglowing pigment absorbs ambient light under normal usage conditions. In an emergency, interior staircases equipped with VisiGlow nosings glow sufficiently bright to help people negotiate stairs safely, even in complete darkness. The bright glow diminishes slowly, which aids in the event of a prolonged power failure. VisiGlow also remains effective for years. Long-Lasting, Non-Slip PerformanceVisiGlow's non-slip surface is made of super-hard abrasives in an epoxy bond, locked into a sturdy base of heat treated, 6063-T6 extruded aluminum alloy. The base is secured by a full-length, 3/4" arrow anchor. The design features a gently radiused edge that sets flush with the riser. There is a minimum of exposed aluminum on the walking surface. Stairs can be maintained with routine cleaning products. VisiGlow nosings are designed for medium to heavy pedestrian use indoors. The are easily incorporated into poured or precast concrete, terrazzo, steel pan cement-filled, or wood stairs. ![]() Your Choice of Colors For improved esthetics, only the two leading abrasive strips of VisiGlow non-slip nosings feature the glow-in-the-dark formula. The remaining strips are available in your choice of seven attractive colors, capable of blending with any decor. The color pigment is incorporated into the abrasive material, so the color will never fade or peel. ![]() ![]() ![]() Architectural Specifications The tread base shall consist of heat treated 6063-T6 Amstep Products, LLC extruded aluminum. The abrasive filler material shall be bonded and locked into the channels provided in the extruded tread base. Treads will have a coefficient of friction 1.02 dry, 0.98 wet per ASTM F609-79. Tread shall be 1/4" thick and continuous arow anchor shall be 3/4" deep. The VisiGlow afterglow brightness shall be a minimum of 2.4 after 120 minutes per DIN 67510. | |
