Amstep 300 Series Restoration Nosing

Amstep 300 Series Retrofit Nosings feature the same non-slip abrasive material found on our Amstep replacement treads and new construction nosings, permanently bonded to a sturdy base of heavy-duty extruded aluminum. The design features a gently radiused edge that fits flush with the riser, therefore exposing a minimum amount of aluminum.

Amstep 331 Series (3" wide); 341 Series (4" wide); and 351 Series (5" wide) are a snap to retrofit and work with virtually any stair material including poured or precast concrete, terrazzo, steel pan cement filled, or wood stairs, making them ideal for applications where metal nosings were not specified during construction or where adhesive stairs have begun to peel or crack.

The Safety You Need

Amstep 300 Series Restoration Nosing Installed

300 Series offers an attractive and cost-effective answer to the serious hazard of worn or damaged stairs. New construction specifications often call for adhesive rubber stair treads. Rubber stair treads wear over time and, unfortunately, they can also crack, peel, or even roll down over the leading edge of the stair. Other stairways may not feature any non-slip treads or nosings, and older stairs or those subjected to heavy foot-traffic or abuse may even be cracked or severely worn. Amstep Series 331/341/351 retrofit nosings solve all of these problems.

Amstep 300 Series features the same, super-hard, non-slip abrasive material found on Amstep's replacement treads and new construction nosings, permanently bonded to a sturdy base of heavy-duty, extruded aluminum. The walking-surface provides a coefficient of friction of 1.02 dry and 0.98 wet to comply with ADA, OSHA, and most local building codes and insurance requirements. The design also features a gently radiused edge that's flush with the riser and a minimum of exposed aluminum.

  • Easy to install on existing stairs
  • Retrofit nosings provide years of non-slip performance
  • Ideal for interior stairs in educational, health care, commercial, and industrial facilities
  • Meets ADA, OSHA, and most building code requirements
  • Choice of colors to match any decor
  • Can be maintained with routine cleaning products

In many cases, stairs need only to be cleaned in preparation. If stairs are severely worn, you must first level them with a quick-set leveling compound. Amstep 300 Series nosings are then secured with stainless steel flat head screws drilled into the stair material. They work with virtually any stair material including poured or precast concrete, terrazzo, steel pan cement-filled, or wood stairs. Once installed, stairs equipped with 300 Series 331/341/351 nosings can be maintained with routine cleaning products.

Choice of colors

The abrasive material bonded to the heavy-duty aluminum base of the 300 Series is offered in your choice of eight attractive colors. These colors can blend with any decor, for improved esthetics. The color pigment is incorporated into the abrasive material itself, so the color will never fade or peel.
